Cookie Policy

Effective Date: October 22, 2026

This policy explains how Journey to the Rarest uses cookies and similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, and how you can choose which ones we use.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Local storage works in a similar way. Both let a site remember information between visits.

Your choices

When you first visit, a banner asks which cookies you allow. You can accept all, reject all optional cookies, or choose by category. Until you choose, only strictly necessary cookies are used.

Cookies and browser storage from any category you haven't allowed are removed automatically, including when you change your mind later.

You can change your choice anytime with "Your privacy choices" at the bottom of every page, the cookie button in the corner of the screen, or the button below.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of targeting cookies and turn them off.

The categories we use

Strictly necessary

Needed for the shop to work, so they're always on:

  • jttr_consent remembers your cookie choices, for 12 months.
  • jttr.session_token keeps you signed in to your account, for up to 30 days. It's only set if you sign in.
  • jttr-cart (browser storage) remembers what's in your cart.
  • jttr-checkout-session (browser storage, this tab only) lets us release a card you were checking out if you leave the payment page without paying.

Performance

Used only if you allow them. We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are popular and how people find us. Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, which last up to two years. This information is reported to us in aggregate and isn't used to identify you. If you don't allow performance cookies, Google's tools are told you declined and don't set analytics cookies.

Functional

Used only if you allow them, to remember choices you make and give you a more personal experience. We don't use these today.

Targeting

Used only if you allow them. These may be set by advertising or social media partners to show you relevant ads on other sites. We don't use targeting cookies today. If that changes, they'll stay off unless you allow them.

Payments

When you check out, you pay on a secure page run by Stripe at checkout.stripe.com. Stripe sets its own cookies there to process your payment and prevent fraud. Those are covered by Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you clear them, we'll ask for your cookie choices again, and your cart will be emptied. To stop Google Analytics on every site, you can install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
